Christmas, Here We Come!

We were late in obtaining our real Christmas tree last year, so I wanted to get a jump start on the decorations this year...especially since we now have an artificial tree (tear).

I decided we're only decorating a little of outside and the main floor...

It's complete!

Bedroom Update

WARNING: This post is overwhelmingly full of pictures!

I'm excited to share some minor updates in our bedroom. Since we moved into our home 8 months ago (woah!), we've been able to make our bedroom more cozy and cohesive at a relatively quick pace. Click here for pictures of this room before.

Now on to the new...

Santa isn't normally there :)

Scarves, scarves, and more scarves

Not that anyone really needs to know, but this hamper and chandelier are next on the list for the bedroom. Corey demolished our last hamper by tripping over it one night. That's my husband alright.

And to complete the room, we need a rug! Here are a few I'm dreaming of:

What rug would you vote for?

Pumpkin Bread

My mom made us some delicious pumpkin bread for our anniversary, and it was so yummy that I needed to share it with you!

This picture does not look too appetizing, but know that it was moist, sweet and overall scrumptious. Feel free to substitute ingredients for a healthier option.

What you need:

2 cups sugar
1 cup salad oil
3 eggs
2 cups canned pumpkin
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp baking powder
1 tsp baking soda
1 tbsp pumpkin pie spices

What to do:

Beat sugar with oil
Add one egg at a time, beating well
Add pumpkin; mix until light and fluffy
Stir in flour and dry ingredients
Mix well and pour into 2 small, greased loaf pans
Bake at 325 for 1 hour
Cool 10 minutes before turning over pants

For the glaze:

Mix 1 cup sifted powdered sugar and 1 tbsp of milk
Add vanilla and butter for a richer taste
Pour glaze over bread while still hot

Maggie even tried to enjoy some!

2 Years!

I can hardly believe it was 2 years ago that Corey and I had the best. day. ever. It was so fun to reminisce about it this weekend (although we still haven't watched our wedding video...). To make this post extra sappy, I'm going to share with you some things I love about my dear husband...

Corey has a fabulous sense of humor
He can relax at any moment
He's got a love for animals (I secretly love that he's such a sucker)
Corey has an amazing work ethic...even when work is awful
He gets excited about church
He is so weird (just like me!)
Corey is very honest in his words and actions
I love his passion for the little ones we serve at church
He is a fun Uncle
He knows every random fact there is to know
Corey can easily join a group of people--he is easy to like
He continues to grow in his prayer life
Corey has learned to hang his towel up!
He is so flipping strong. Have you seen his muscles?
Corey knows how to make me feel special
He has goals, and he will achieve them
Corey is seeking to be a Godly man
He answers my millions of questions
Corey lets me blab, but he also stops me saying something regretful
He lets me work at Fossil

Corey is not perfect, but he is just right for me (even on the days when he drives me nuts ;)). I love you, Courtney!

And to finish this love post...enjoy some of our favorite wedding photos:

I can't wait for the many anniversaries to come!

Let's go blue!
