Do you remember THIS annoying video?

My sweet, sweet husband reminded me of it. Thanks, Court. NOT. :P

But seriously, who is ready for the weekend?!

This girl sure is.

There's no point to this post other than to be excited for the next two days.

I'm not feeling guilty that I'm glad the work week is over, and I can get a break.

I'm going to enjoy this fabulous weather, watch our nephews soccer game, work at Fossil, and maybe hit up art prize with the hubs.

So fabulous.

What are your plans this weekend?

Fall Porch

I'm attempting to step up my game and blog more this fall.

I promised to share some pictures with you of our limited fall decor, including our front porch. Again, be warned that these are lame iphone photos since my camera is still dead.

BUT some good news...

Corey and I are getting a new camera! We're not quite sure when (maybe around the holidays when we can steal a deal), but it's at least in the future, people. This is progress.

In other good news, we got a fire pit! I've been wanting a mobile one, but have not wanted to pay a heavy price. I found one on a garage sale website for cheap! It's light, and it even came with a poker and cover. It's the little things, folks.

Okay, so onto the fancy pictures...

Acorns from my parents yard will be in the big lantern soon

Puppy on the couch (sigh....)

This topiary caught my eye. If you think about it, you realize it's dead. Real nice, eh?
But Mags and I think its pretty!

The infamous vase that collects tons of fingerprints and dog marks

Corey's mom gave me 4 very old family photos (couple generations back!)
I'm SO honored and excited for these treasures!
Check out the boxer dog (say what?!) in this one. The boy is Corey's grandpa :)

2 pictures are in the basement, and 2 will be on the main level or in our bedroom. Still deciding...

So there you have it.

Any garage sale finds you adore?

It's been quite some time since my last blog post!

Adjusting to a new school year and desiring more sleep these days has caused me to neglect this part of the interwebs.

Corey and I have also felt the calling to simplify our lives. Without going into great detail now, it has been nice to simply sit. Rest. Say no to former commitments that were beneficial, but not necessarily what we have been called to anymore.

Today I can enjoy Saturday.

Instead of racing around this morning, I slept in (till 8am!). Laundry and grocery shopping are calling my name. But also the excitement of a co-worker's bridal shower and helping a friend out with her Zumba fundraiser...and lounging on the couch for a few minutes of the MI football game.

It feels great to slow down, even if it's just for a short while.

Today I'm also hoping to finally transform our dying summer porch into a earthy fall one. I'll post pictures soon. I also put up a few fall decorations within the house, but we do not go all out. I'm secretly getting excited for Christmas decorations already ;)

What do you do for fall decorations?

My Name Is

Hi, my name is Holly.

And I have a lot to be thankful for.

Today I am healthy! School was cancelled for me today and tomorrow due to water contamination/traces of e coli. I'm grateful to not be sick, and I am hoping none of our students are either!

Two days "off" means that I have more time to get started on special education evaluations, planning groups, etc. Not to mention rest. Can you believe I already need rest after only 2 days in?

The weather. is. perfect.

Perfect, people!

Nice temps, beautiful sun and skies, and a slight breeze. Makes me love fall even more (if that was even possible).

I have an incredible family, crazy lovely pets, and supportive friends.

I am loved and protected by the Creator of our universe.

I am able to exercise and have freedom to take care of my body.

I have a job, a home I love, and our lawn is actually looking normal now. (woot!)

I have health insurance.

I have access to endless amount of information at any time of the day or night. (Half of what I obtain if from Courtney).

Pumpkins and mums are being/will be sold at stores soon.

What's the point of this post?

Just to say that I'm feeling thankful today.

What has been bringing you joy?

It's In The Air

It feels like fall, folks!

And I adore it.

Fall is my fav season. I love the the cooler temps, pumpkins, cider, changing leaves, football (go blue!), cozy clothes, tall boots, donuts, hay rides, corn mazes, apples, anticipation of big holidays, and the list goes on. So much goodness in one season.

Along with fall comes the anticipation of a new school year. I went back to work this past week, and the students arrive tomorrow. I'm busy preparing assemblies, building teams for PBIS, social skills lessons, groups, IEPs and so much more. It feels great to be back at it...although I'm eager for the first PBIS assembly to be over so some of the nerves can subside.

Also this week my small group was able to serve at a local soup kitchen. It was a great reminder of what matters most in life. Not stuff, that's for sure. So grateful for this group and their willingness to push me into better obedience in Christ. Like the awkward thumbs up?

We also picked up our Reed family pictures! I'm eager to print a few for frames. We're in desperate need of updated pictures. You can see them here.  We're also getting some pictures of Corey's great great grandparents which I am incredibly thrilled about. Now to find a spot for them!

This weekend was the a fabulous end to summer, as we were able to spend time with friends playing in the Rouge River and at Stac's cottage, as well as sharing time with our nephews and the Osbeck clan. (And Corey got some guy time at the Mumford and Sons concert/music festival in OH!)

Such a satisfying weekend and summer as a whole. Now on to new fabulous times :)

What do you love most about this upcoming season?
