IRS Party

Corey's co-workers threw us such a lovely luncheon today!

They gave us such thoughtful gifts. Below are pictures of the handmade gifts (minus the MI pacifiers which are just awesome on their own ;))

So amazing. We are truly thankful!

The Looks

Now that we're full term (although not 40 weeks), we're ready/pumped/eager/thankful/curious/excited to meet baby Will! This belly of mine is quite large, and I am getting SO many stares and smiles. It's actually quite fun. I feel weird typing that, especially being so uncomfortable, but I've been enjoying embracing this past week as we anticipate the arrival of our new family member. People will stop me everywhere I go to comment, ask questions, and give smiles...as I waddle near them. It feels as though the entire world is happy for us--and I now have 500 new friends--and that's a pretty neat thing.

Although we don't know if Will is going to arrive in 1 day or 35 (ha!), we're gearing up for this tail end. The Braxton Hicks are coming on stronger, a few other signs have started, and I'm power walking like it's nobody's business. I just had this vision of a pregnant lady prancer-sizing. That's silly.

Anywho, my coworkers have been absolutely wonderful (as always). They are so encouraging, interested and thoughtful. Everyday I hear, "you're still here!" by multiple people. I also have to leave for meetings early because I'll get stopped by staff or students wanting to touch or talk about the baby. I'm not typically a center of attention kind of person, but honestly, all this talk makes me feel 1. normal and 2. loved. It's nice working with a bunch of women (and the poor men who also listen in) who have already been through it or are just plain pumped.

And what else is hilarious? The DK students who ask, "Is your baby still in there?" Some of them totally don't get it, and I love it. "Yep, he's definitely still in my belly! 80 pounds and all". The doc thinks he's going to be a big baby depending on when he's born (thanks to Corey being nearly 10 lb at birth), but regardless, we are ready to get this party started. And I'm ready to be so in love/scared/grateful/amazed/emotional/freaked out.

And so we wait :)

Electric Cheetah

What a gorgeous day!

Seriously, it is amazing out. This 70 degree weather is prime for us. Corey and I started the day slowly with him taking Mags for a run, and then we proceeded on our date day.

It was super casual, but simply lovely :)

We ate lunch at Electric Cheetah. Corey was hardly embarrassed that I pulled the big camera out for a few pictures. Then we hit up 6 antique stores. I found another awesome crate for our front porch decor. I can't wait until the weather stays warm, so I can visit Countryside Greenhouse with my mom. I'm planning on incorporating more yellow into our front porch this year, and I'm eager to make it look cute!

Mmmm...monster cookies

While antiquing I also found these little light bulbs! I don't know why, but I was intrigued by them. And truth be told, I love them. I wish I had gotten more, but I can't win 'em all.

We searched high and low for some new records, but it was an off day for that. I was going to get a Christmas record, but Corey convinced me to wait a bit. Wonder why?

Such a hottie

Beatles first record

I thought this was Justin Bieber when I first saw it

If you know me at all, you know I am such a sucker for old books.
Especially Nancy Drew

When we arrived back at the abode, we sat outside in the lovely sun with Mags. And the snoozing continued before dinner at my parent's house.

To top it off, we are so very grateful to say I've made it to 36 weeks!
A few signs of labor have started, but nothing major.

Such a fabulous day indeed!

Oh Sweet Susie

What a wonderful spring break this has been so far!

I'm so glad to have the opportunity to rest before our next adventure.
A little summary of the week up till now:

walks with Corey and Mags
people staring at my belly or asking when I'm due almost every time I go out
reading in the sunshine
tulips starting to bloom! (And Mags trying to dig them up)
a nearly 2 mile walk with my neighbor
finalizing what we're doing for Will's monthly photos
James Bond movies
eating freezie pops like it's my job
planning/dreaming about our basement (playroom!) update
organizing the rest of the baby items
planning gift ideas for friends
ordering my maternity photo book for Will

Sleeping still proves to be a difficult task, but I've done so much resting overall that I am quite thankful and feeling refreshed. The rest of the week will be filled with having Kenny and Jenny over for dinner, a few crafts, volunteering with our small group, and a date day with Corey!

And some random pictures...

She thinks she's a lap dog

She really does love us (mostly the nursery)

What have you done in this spring-time weather?

Man Shower

I've heard of a few people hosting "Man Showers". I loved the idea because it's a way to celebrate Corey becoming a Dad, and Corey loved that he could hang out with his closest friends, drink beer, eat food, and play video games. Not to mention it's a fun way to stock up on some diapers and wipes.

This simple shower was one way I was able to show my love for Corey, and I absolutely loved hearing all the guys laugh downstairs. Guys are so weird. But it was great :)

These were a hit. Recipe found here

The first few attendees before more showed up

I am quite excited for the adventures and challenges we are going to have. Change can be difficult, but I anticipate this new chapter be so so good. I'm one blessed woman to have Corey as a husband and now to see him transform into a Dad as well!

(You're welcome for the sappiness)
