Out and About

It has been wonderful to have Corey home this week again. He went into work a few times last week, but he doesn't officially go back until tomorrow. Although we haven't been able to do more walks because of the rain, we've been able to run some errands. Yesterday we went to Bed, Bath & Beyond, Costco and Qdoba with Will. He was a trooper! I also felt like Mitch from Modern Family in Costco...it really is as magical as it seems. Hello cheap diapers, wipes & formula!

Will has been more alert during the day lately which make snuggling with him even more fun. And I could smell him all day. We also think he has the funniest facial expressions--which are probably related to gas--but he's adorable to us biased parents nonetheless.

His alertness during the day has also helped us at night. The doctor said he had colic, but thankfully it's not 24/7 like some babies. We've had some sleepless (literally) nights, but we continue to make progress. We now have a routine for bedtime and the middle of the night which has been helpful to me. We moved Will to his crib which just makes it easier for changing diapers and getting a bit more sleep. The first few nights were rough. Ultimately, though, we're thankful to have a healthy baby boy to hold :)

Mags and Luna continue to do well. Will started crying while in his swing a few days ago, and Maggie sprinted down the stairs and began to lick him. Although we don't really want her licking his face off, it was still a sweet gesture ;) Mags will occasionally wake up in the middle of the night to switch sleeping locations in our bedroom, but first she needs to check Will out in his crib before she goes back to sleep. Luna has also been more visible and friendly. She'll come in and hang out in the nursery during feedings (so will Mags) which has been a pleasant surprise.

This week I was able to spray paint Corey's papa's rocking chair for Will. I'm going to use it in his monthly photos. I cannot believe he'll be 3 weeks on Monday. Crazy! I also still cannot believe I birthed him ;) Just incredible.

And now for some more phone photos. We do have some nice ones on the camera, but I haven't gotten around to uploading them yet. Be warned that some of these are taken at awkward angles...hello close ups!

Happy that things are settling down a bit. I know how much you love routines. :) You are already one amazing momma! Which is no surprise.

Love the smiles! I'm glad you've been able to get out and about a bit recently and that getting into a routine has helped in the sleep department some already. I am a huge fan of routines too and I know it was a great help to us and our kids once we were established. We used "Preparation for Parenting" which I think was re-named later "Baby Wise" as a guide for sleep training. Follow that mama heart of yours; you're doing great! Blessings to you all!
