9 Weeks!

Will is 9 weeks today!

This morning he went for his 2 month check up at the doctor. He now weighs 13 lbs 4 oz (71st percentile) and is 23 inches long (45th percentile). The doctor was impressed with his smiles, coos and ability to "stand". He also got his shots. He was a trooper and screamed right after they went in but then slept. We ended up giving him the Tylenol due to pain, but thankfully he's keeps on sleeping, so hopefully it doesn't hurt as much!  We're so happy to have a healthy, growing boy.

ps Corey is washing the deck right now...finally getting ready to stain that bad boy after living here 2 years. Then we're tackling some kitchen projects...more details to come soon!

Road Trip!

This weekend we took Will to visit Aunt Stacy and Uncle Adam in Anderson, IN. I wasn't sure how the four hour drive and sleeping would go, but it wasn't too shabby! Will was a rockstar and slept almost the entire way there and back. We stopped at some dirty gas stations to feed him which worked out better than anticipated. Sleeping wasn't too bad either...we were just a bit tired on Sunday ;)  It was wonderful being able to have a chill, summer weekend with Stac and Adam at their home. I'm so thankful Will is going to have them in his life!

Here are a few pictures...

Stac working in their amazing garden!

Green beans! I didn't know that fruit came from flowers...how embarrassing.

Going for a morning run

Corn, sweet peas, tomatoes, peppers, kale, spinach, green beans and more...incredible!

Love her :)

2 Months!

Will is 2 months old tomorrow!

I'm posting a day early since we're visiting friends in IN this weekend. This past month flew by! He's such a cutie patootie if I do say so myself ;)

Will weighs over 12 pounds and is 22 inches long. We are getting better at tummy time, and most of the time Will enjoys it! He doesn't want to stay on his belly for super long, but he definitely has a strong neck and likes to look around. He also smiles at us and is starting to giggle more and more. His eating has improved (with minor setbacks), and sleeping is going smoothly for his age. He makes the funniest faces, and his stretches are. the. best. I cannot get enough of him! Sometimes I just stare at him while he's sleeping...completely in awe of him. He is so precious to me, and I am very thankful for my little sweetheart. He melts my heart!

Garage Door Upgrade

Summer seems like the natural time to do home improvement projects. I have many ideas to make our home more welcoming, and we hope to tackle a few this summer.

The first one we did was update our garage door. We purchased a decorative garage door kit from Home Depot, and then my handy mother-in-law helped install it for us! She did the measuring and drilling, and all I did was screw in the plates, organize my tool kit and take pictures. The kit was cheap, and it took less than 30 minutes to do!

The trusty tool kit I received as a Christmas present a few years ago. Corey asked for clothes that year. Defying gender roles is what we do.

BEFORE & AFTER

Funny how something so simple creates such a nicer look. We need to paint the shutters to match the door frame now. It's hard to see in the pictures, but we finally replaced Will's bedroom window which also makes a big difference! Better late than never...

A few other projects include painting a chair rail in the basement to break up the overwhelming blue color (eventually to be a UofM themed toy room) and staining our deck. We are also seriously considering painting our kitchen cabinets white! I love white cabinets, but I love white cabinets with dark wood floors...which we don't have. So we'll see how/when that project comes to fruition.

What home updates do you plan to do?
