Will's 2nd Birthday Party

Due to Will's love-hate relationship (mostly love) with Maggie, we decided to have a puppy party to celebrate his 2nd birthday! We are so thankful for the many family and friends that came over to love and celebrate with us. His party was a perfect example of how blessed and grateful we are.

The day before the party, we took Will to the doctor yesterday for his 2-year checkup. He weighed 26.7 pounds (25%) and was ~33 inches tall (50%). He's finally growing in height! We weren't surprised by the weight as he is so active.

Before his party, I completed my Declare It Day goal and ran my first quarter marathon trail race! It went really fast since there was constantly something to focus on (aka not tripping). I ended up getting a much better time than I anticipated (9:30)--especially because the goal was to finish without walking.

Anyway, back to the party! Some pictures wouldn't rotate (or are blurry), but I'm leaving them up anyway :) Although we're all tired, it was a wonderful day!

Happy 2nd birthday sweet boy!!

Will: 24 Months!

Our baby is 2 years old today!

It is unbelievable how fast this past year went, and I am feeling overly emotional about Will today. I really cannot formulate words for the amount of gratitude, joy and love I have for this little boy. He continually amazes me, and it is a special treat to be able to teach him and help him grow. The Lord has truly been faithful to us.

Not to mention, this age is so fun! He does have his fits, but overall, we have a blast learning, speaking, sharing, and loving. There aren't too many updates since last month in this post, except that Will has been saying, "Hold you mommy?" when he wants me to hold him, and it's quite adorable :) He also has increased his love for "boulders" (bulldozers), playing outside, the foam pit at gymnastics, farm animals, and Sesame street (if that's even possible!). Oh and the bedtime routine is my sweetest time with Will. After brushing teeth, PJ's and prayers, we read books and snuggle. He'll keep telling me to lay on his "poh" (pillow) and "seep" (sleep). We chat, I smother him with kisses, and then we giggle. I never want it to end. He is seriously the sweetest, and I cannot explain my love for him <3

We got Will a mini trampoline for his birthday and set it up early when the weather was amazing. He loves it! We also get him a book every birthday and write a special note in it. This year we got him this book.

Today I took the day off work (Corey had special time with him Tuesday--based on work schedules), so we went out to breakfast at Peppermill Grill where Will ate 3 pancakes! Then we had a blast at the children's museum, and now he's napping. Tonight we'll celebrate with dinner and ice cream. On Saturday we're having a birthday party with family and some friends. Every time I sing happy birthday or mention is birthday Will says, "cake?! cake?!" Like mother like son ;) We're also having family pictures done next week, so there will be a few more posts coming up.

I cannot believe how big my "baby" is...

"hide" aka pooping

Will, you are such a blessing, and we treasure the opportunity to be your parents. We love you more than words can describe!

*Instead of monthly posts, I will now post sporadically. I'm hoping to post more adventures this summer when I have the time off

Will's Toddler Bedroom

We've changed Will's bedroom around to make it more of a toddler room rather than a nursery. He finally realized that his room was whale themed ("fish fish fish"), so it's been fun to make his space more interactive for him!

I wanted to get him a teepee, but instead I got the materials and my sweet neighbor, Kelly, made it for us! Will loves to read in it with us...and lately he also likes to hide in it to avoid putting pajamas on when he runs in from brushing his teeth :)

Yes, his toddler bed is facing the wrong way. Corey put it together, and because I'm thankful, I'm not going to move it around

I still have to spray paint that side table

I put Will's current clothes on the bottom, and as I collect the next size up (i.e. hand-me-downs, sale racks, etc.) I put them on the top rack. His pants, shorts, PJs, diapers and linens are in his dresser.

These have also evolved as he's grown since we mostly keep his outdoor gear in a closet downstairs. We keep socks, slippers, swimsuits/swim diapers in these. I still need to update the tags.

Will is obsessed with helping us put [baby] powder on.. He also loves lotion and Vaseline on his face..silly boy

He loves his toddler bed ("new...bed? new...bed?"), and he needs to have almost every stuffed animal he owns in the bed. He's also very fond of his "blue bankie"

He loves going without clothes. Corey says he takes after me :P

Will loves helping  move the clothes from the washer to the dryer. Pushing the buttons is also an all-time favorite

So there you have it! A few minor things to update still, but the major changes are done. It's fun to see Will appreciate different aspects of his room. I'm sure I'll get the itch to change things around again, but I'm planning on this theme lasting at least a few more years.

Harper Newborn Pictures

I took my friend, Erin's, maternity and family photos a month-ish ago, and today I had the privilege of taking a few photos of her sweet baby girl, Harper! She is three weeks old, and it was awesome to get some practice. I took 200 photos to get 40 good ones. Phew!

Before starting I read this post which was insanely helpful to me. I'm not going into photography--I just want to get better at doing it for fun/taking pictures of Will. I definitely have a lot more to learn, and I am debating about purchasing a editing software such as lightroom.

Anywho, here are some of my favorites of this beautiful girl:

Five close friends/family delivered babies within the past three weeks. I'm in love with all these snuggly newborns!
