Monthly Pregnancy Photos & Life Update

It's been forever since I've posted, and since we've been taking monthly maternity photos, I thought now would be an ideal time.

I am feeling quite large these days, but trying to embrace pregnancy. Honestly, though, it is something that I do not enjoy. The pregnancy symptoms and anxiety that tags along with it are tricky. However,  I am extremely thankful for a healthy baby thus far, and we cannot thank the Lord enough for this gift. Callan's movements, and the way in which Will loves him already, is also something I treasure.

I've been measuring 2 weeks ahead at every appointment because I'm already "stretched out" I guess (ha!). I have 5 weeks till full-term, 6 weeks if he comes as early as Will did and just under 8 weeks if he comes at my due date.

We found out Corey will be leaving for Georgia July 30 through mid-January for a new job with the government. It's unfortunate timing, but we trust the Lord's plan, and we are confident He will provide. And the job is a significant blessing which we are very grateful for. Corey has been waiting on this job for 3 years! He will be a special agent/criminal investigator with the IRS. This job also allows me to transition to part-time with minimal financial change which we do not take for granted as we know this is not the case for many.

I will be induced on September 2 (a day after my due date) if Callan hasn't already arrived. Corey will fly home the morning of Sept 2, and stay until Sept 4. He will also fly home once a month for two days--basically whenever there is a federal holiday. I also plan to drive down to Savannah with my MIL and both boys in October to visit him.

At this point I have grieved the fact that Corey most likely will not be there for the delivery. The anticipation is really the hardest though. We desperately don't want him to leave while also knowing it's inevitable and wanting to start our new routine. I'm trying to enjoy the present, but it's never been a good practice of mine :) I'm focusing on house projects and nesting as distractions. The nursery is done, things are now washed, and the car seat is in the car. I just need to get last minute items (although I have tons of time still!) and pack.

And now for the part that is most interesting...seeing just how crazily big my belly is!

Again, we are deeply grateful for this sweet blessing and continue to pray for Callan's health. Thanks for your prayers and joy with us!

Safari Nursery

The nursery for our next babe has been something I've been planning in my head for a long time, and it's so exciting to see it come together in real life!

We decided to do a safari theme for Callan's nursery. There are a few finishing touches that need to be done (aka take off the stickers from the dresser, ha!), but it's pretty close to done. I was hoping that if I finished it early I would feel less anxious about losing this baby. Turns out, it didn't really work ;)

Anyway, Will loves the rocking chair--and so do I! I love that he can play in there while I organize. The other day Will and Corey watched basketball in the nursery. Although it's a bit nerve-racking having the name on the wall (again that fear of loss creeps in), I am thankful that we can all spend time enjoying the room as we await for Callan's arrival.

Here are a few photos:

These prints were hand-painted by Shelby Kregel

We also had our ultrasound today and seems to be going well thus far. We are so insanely thankful for a healthy baby <3

Our Home in 5 Years

We moved into our home five years ago, and each year we've been able to make it more our own. I was going to do before/after of most of the rooms, but then that seemed like a lot of work ;) We've been able to update our main floor in significant ways the past year, so here's some updated pictures of our living room at least:

This spring we are looking forward to redoing the patio underneath our deck to make it more user-friendly. As in, we can actually use it! We're getting concrete laid, adding some textiles and florals, and changing up the seating. Will has been asking for a "tall excavator" for his birthday, so we're excited to surprise him with a digger (hello cheap on amazon!) which will also go in the back.

We also moved Will to a twin bed last month! The beloved teepee went to the basement, and now he has a tiny reading corner. Maggie has been enjoying sleeping with Will (and waking him up too early!) too

These home updates are most important to us because we want to utilize the space we have and ensure others feel welcomed and comfortable while in our home. Although we've done less hosting the past few months, we are eager to have friends and family over more this summer before baby arrives!

It's a...

We are thrilled to share that we are having another boy! We were able to find out the gender exceptionally early, so it has been fun having this sweet little one seem more real.

On Friday we had a casual gender reveal with family. Will pulled out a blue stuffed animal from a bag. My parents will now have seven grandsons and no shot at any granddaughters! It will also make zero girls and three boys for the Osbeck side.

We will name the baby Callan Clair. There is really no significance to the first or middle names except that we just liked them...and apparently all the boys in our family need girl middle names? :P

Although I still feel anxious each day, focusing on the name/nursery have been positive distractions. Here are a few sneak peeks for the safari theme.

Again we are deeply grateful for this little blessing. I think I will feel cautious the entire pregnancy, but we are choosing to focus on the exciting times ahead. Thank you to all who have shared in our joy!

A Gift: Round Two

Our family is expanding, and we're expecting our second sweet pea around September 1st!

We are incredibly grateful the Lord has granted us the opportunity to be parents to yet another one of His miracles. We share this news with thankful hearts as we remember the baby we lost last summer from a partial molar pregnancy. Through the grief, the Lord remained so faithful to us. We praise Him for His goodness. With this new season, we hope to continue to celebrate our joy while also being sensitive to those grieving or processing their own journey.

I am also incredibly thankful and excited to announce that I will be working part-time next year! It is such a blessing. It will hold many new challenges, but we are very grateful for the opportunity, and I am SO excited for my extra time with Will and the new baby. Especially since he starts pre-school at St. Pete's this fall.

We are deeply appreciative of friends and family who continue to love us and celebrate these blessings with us!

I'm still here!

Wow, it's been awhile! I had the best intentions to blog about Christmas (I haven't even put the pictures on our computer yet...), but we all came down with the flu, I started back up at work, and it's just been all out nutty. Work has been so busy with evaluations, behavior plans, student needs. Some days I'm barely making it. It has calmed a little bit the past week, so I'm grateful. Especially because I have another cold. My fifth one this school year...but who is counting?!

I think my body has been telling me I need to slow down (clearly), but sometimes that doesn't seem possible. I have decided that I am going to cease selling Stella for now. I freakin' love that jewelry, but my goals for 2017 are to simplify our life--cut out the extras we don't absolutely need and focus on what really matters. Losing a baby this past summer/fall really prompted me to look at how I use my time.

No update on Corey's job yet. He passed all the health exams, so now we wait to see when his five month training is. Some are speculating spring...but who knows :)

We have some house projects that we're getting done and saving for. We finally purchased a ceiling fan for the living room, so that will be installed soon. We've also got some plans to redo our back patio and make it user-friendly this summer. I'm dreaming of spending summer out back! We're also planning to put luxury vinyl in Will's bathroom (it currently is partially covered in carpet...gross), and we hope to look for new couches at some point. We are very grateful for the opportunity to change things up and make our home fresh. Oh, and I put up a few valentines decor items...because why not? Candy hearts are seriously the only gift I want each year.

And on a SUPER happy note, my best friend delivered her second baby boy yesterday!!!!! We are over the moon excited! I seriously cannot wait to meet Wes. He is absolutely adorable :)

Not many other updates right now. Praising God for the blessings He has already provided, learning to trust Him more, and trying to determine how I can better serve others. Definitely a work in progress...

Also, I may have mentioned her before, but if you don't follow gracelaced on instagram yet you totally should. I find her artwork and words incredibly encouraging. She even has a shoppe found here. This was a recent post that has been constantly on my mind.

Hoping you were able to soak up some sun today as I did!
